NEW YEAR, 2018, TWELVE NEW CHAPTERS, GO FOR THE GOLD!

Welcome to 2018.  This blog will enable me to keep up with the growth and blessings in my life SO THAT I will never forget them and YOU will know the excitement in my heart.  Through sharing, I hope to ADD VALUE to your life.

Each year we get to write 12 new chapters in The Book of Our Life.  Chapter 1, January, is over already.  How did you do?  Are you happy with your story thus far?  Time is flying and we can either set our course and violently pursue our dreams, or we can simply go along for the ride, wherever the wind blows us.  God calls us to be navigators.  And, Jesus is our North Star guiding us home.

In August, 2017, I successfully completed the John C. Maxwell Certification Program, www.johnmaxwellgroup.com, and became certified as a Coach, Teacher, Trainer and Speaker, licensed to use the following curriculum and programs such as:

Leadership Gold, Put Your Dreams to the Test, 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth.

In January, I have been learning the 21 Laws of Leadership, by John C. Maxwell.  John is America’s Leadership Coach, and an internationally recognized leadership expert, speaker and author of 75+ books.

What a blessing it has been to discover The 21 Laws of Leadership and to apply them to my work and my life.  Each Leadership Law is a power tool which  increases our skill level and enhances our effectiveness in leading others.  We are all leaders in life.  People are watching us.  We are either impacting others positively or negatively.  The key is to grow personally and impact others intentionally.

Here is a re-cap of just six Laws of Leadership.  To know them is to know the art of living well.  Be blessed:

  1. The Law of the Lid.  We all have lids in our thinking that clamp down and stop us from being our best.  We must be able to recognize the internal and externals lids and work to remove them to increase our effectiveness.  Think of them as ceilings or road blocks and be a lid lifter for yourself and for others.
  2. The Law of Influence.  The true measure of Leadership is Influence, nothing more and nothing less.  It takes good character and trust and honesty to become a person of influence.
  3. The Law of Process. Leadership develops daily, not in a day.  “The Dream of a Lifetime” can take a lifetime to create.  Never, ever give up.
  4. The Law of Navigation.  Anyone Can Steer the Ship, but It Takes a Leader to Chart the Course.  God has given us tools and skills and gifts and His word to successfully navigate the uncharted waters of this age.
  5. The Law of  Addition.  Leaders Add Value to others by serving others.  This is counter intuitive, but Jesus showed us that The way up, is down!  To be a leader, serve others.  Your life will be fulfilling and have great purpose. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=graduatingtogreatness
  6. The Law of Solid Ground.  Trust is the foundation of Leadership.  We build trust by consistently exemplifying competence, connection and character.  To improve your character, strengthen 3 things: your integrity, (make a commitment to be scrupulously honest), your authenticity, be yourself with everyone.  And, your discipline, do the right thing every day regardless of how you feel.

Thanks for reading.  Now, Go!  Write your Chapter, Finish February as planned.

QUOTE OF THE MONTH:  GOD HAS CREATED YOU FOR GREATNESS!  AVERAGE CANNOT CHANGE A LIFE!  GO FOR THE GOLD!  TRAIN LIKE AN OLYMPIAN. LIFE AFTER ALL, IS AN ENDURANCE RACE FOR US ALL.

Love and Power to run the course ahead of you!
